In late 2019, Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf toured the Yoga International headquarters in Honesdale, Pennsylvania. This was several months after Yoga International CEO, Todd Wolfenberg spoke with Governor Wolf at the Pennsylvania State Capitol in Harrisburg to discuss the challenges and need for more access to broadband internet in the remote areas of the state.
From the broadband access event in July 2019, “Fast-growth, digitally-native businesses like ours are extremely dependent on broadband internet,” said Todd Wolfenberg, CEO of Yoga International based in Honesdale, Wayne County. “Those businesses can only grow and recruit top talent if high-speed internet is readily available. This is a challenge in Wayne County and many other areas of the state. We support the Restore Pennsylvania initiative because we know firsthand that those who don’t have high speed access will get left behind—and that businesses will have a harder time competing in an increasingly global marketplace.”
With the global COVID pandemic and the focus on remote work, the need for access the broadband is even more critical. Pennsylvania and similar areas of the country continue to be underserved with quality broadband internet and this is causing an even larger disparity in opportunities.
